NEW FOR P2YL:

September Spring is a series of 6+ weekly emails bringing together what helped me during those rough months early in the process of loss.

I believe it’s not just relevant to the particular situation I found myself in (separation/divorce/heartbreak).

I think the self-comforting I used in my life could work for anyone facing loss or upheaval that leaves them feeling as though their identity has suddenly been ripped from them.

I chose ‘September Spring’ because although it sounds like a contradiction in terms (in the Northern hemisphere, that is) it reminds me of a botanical saying I find comforting at the start of every winter:

I think if it’s implicit in nature, it’s implicit in us as women too.

So in September Spring emails I’m going to briefly describe, based on my own experience, how you can nurture the small beginnings of healing and growth after loss and heartbreak.

Ideas for gently strengthening yourself so in time you can escape gradually from Part 1 Of Your Love-Life to a new and uplifting Part 2 Of Your (Love?) Life.

I’ve found what I learned then useful in dealing with any subsequent ups and downs I’ve had in my life.

I’ll always be grateful for that.

This time last year I wrote Six good things about bad Christmases and it struck a chord with many people. So I've flagged it and linked to it again and that's got me thinking about the whole cult of New Year's Eve which I know can hang over us if we're feeling a bit sub-optimal, like a child knowing a dental appointment is coming up.
